Each year in April, Hopkinton gains widespread media attention with the Internationally known Boston Marathon is run. Runners from all over the world gather on Main Street to begin their 26 mile run to Boston.
Public and private recreational facilities include Hopkinton State Park, Whitehall State Park, and Town Beach on Lake Maspenock plus two golf clubs.
Town officials and citizens consider themselves as ‘warm and friendly’.
