Princeton MA Town & School Information

Princeton was named after the Reverend Thomas Prince,Pastor of the Old South Church in Boston. ‘Hide and Seek town’ was named by Helen Hunt Jack, novelist.

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, eight trains a day came and went, bringing hundreds of summer visitors and residents to the many hotels and boarding houses. Famous visitors included Louisa May Alcott and Thomas Edison.

Today, Princeton is in the most part residential with less than 3400population. Points of interest include Mount Wachusett with its skiing in Winter and year round hiking, Harrington Farm, Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary and Princeton Historical Society & Museum.
